ヴァルナ国際バレエコンクールの紹介

第1回ヴァルナ国際バレエコンクールは1964年7月2日より7月13日の日程でブルガリアの海浜リゾート地であるヴァルナ市で開催されました。このコンクールは世界初の国際的バレエコンクールで、開催時よりその芸術的功績においても知名度があります。

コンクールは隔年、7月下旬にヴァルナ市の野外劇場で開催され、緑に囲まれたロマンティックな環境はコンクールのシンボルとなっています。

1992年以降、コンクールはブルガリア、その他諸外国からの募金を得て、ヴァルナ国際バレエコンクール財団により運営されています。財団はユネスコの　ITI(国際演劇協会)とCID(国際ダンス協議会)に加盟しています。

第24回コンクールは2010年７月19日から29日の日程でヴァルナ国際バレエコンクール財団のもと、文化庁とヴァルナ市の協賛により開催されました。

第25回は2012年7月15日から30日に開催される予定です。

The International Ballet Competition – Varna was established in 1964. Its first edition was held from 2 to 13 July at the Open-Air Theatre in the same city – the biggest sea reasort of Bulgaria. It is the first professional international ballet competition in the world. Already with its first edition the Competition registered an impressive success both as organization and artistic achievements.

By tradition the Competition is held every other year in the second half of July at the Open-Air Theatre of the city. Its romantic setting, its stage covered with verdancy have become a symbol of the Varna Olympiad.

After 1992 the Competition is being organized, financed and carried our by Foundation “International Ballet Competition – Varna”. It raises funds only thanks to the noble donations of contributions from Bulgaria and abroad. The Foundation is a member of the Permanent Dance Committee of ITI – UNESCO and member of the International Dance Council CID of UNESCO.

The 24th International Ballet Competition – Varna will be held by Foundation “International Ballet Competition – Varna” with the kind cooperation of the Ministry of culture and Varna Municipality, from 19 through 29 July 2010. The competition is open to ballet dancers of all nationalities, provided they comply with the requirements of Regulations.
